Gaia #2 (2026)

In the Artist's Words: My proposal stems from a sustained focus on matter, understood as an archive of time and as a work of art in itself. Nature appears here not as a motif or landscape, but as a continuous process of creation, where light, time, and form articulate themselves without human intervention. Through photography of geological formations and images of the cosmos, I work with surfaces and spaces where time folds, compresses, or expands, and light acts as a link between seemingly distant scales. Geology is presented as compressed time: presences formed by millions of years of pressure and transformation, where light does not penetrate but glides across the surface. The universe, on the other hand, appears as expanded time, ancient light traveling for millions of years until it becomes visible. In both cases, the image is constructed from a slow gaze that seeks not immediacy or explanation, but the experience of presence. These photographs propose a way of being before the image where nature is not represented, but recognized as creation, memory, and presence.
