In the Artist's Words:
Images carry burdens, but they shouldn't
take charge. These are other matters and other premises.
But when an image is fascinated by an emotion or
when both meet at the right time and place,
drawn in—it's too late, just as Anne Carson writes
“When we fall in love, it's already too late.”.
This is the same.
Images fall in love with lightning, and detachment is difficult.
That's why I'm wondering, in the context of an audiovisual essay, how it is that
images that are nothing more than vehicles for a transformation
specific sounds are capable of resonating in places where
have never been.
How do images from the past come flooding back to us during the
Blink at Carlos's house? Carlos didn't exist when that back.
What is in Carlos's house that makes some of the
nooks of our imagination? They are flashes of pleasure that
