Langre (2015)

In the Artist's Words: These photographs observe spaces crossed by the absence of action. Places built for movement, use, or productivity that, upon coming to a halt, acquire another form of presence. Mills, goalposts, isolated structures, or structures suspended in the middle of the landscape appear here detached from their original function, inhabiting a slower and more silent time. There is no nostalgic gaze upon these territories, nor an idea of ruin understood as loss. I am interested in that instant when a space stops responding to that for which it was created and, even so, continues to exist. Remaining. Breathing differently. I photograph places where movement seems to have withdrawn, leaving behind only the trace of what once happened there. Stopped spaces, detached from the urgency of the present, where the landscape slowly reclaims the leading role and transforms the built environment into something almost contemplative. These images are part of a latent nature: silent, motionless, and still active in its own waiting.
